This landscape is inspired by a weekend break to Three Cliffs Bay, a gorgeous shoreline in South Wales.
A mix of grey, ivory and blue fabrics have been used to recreate the spectacular landscape of cliffs, beach and sea. French knots have been hand embroidered using green and pink variegated embroidery floss, to mimic the beautiful flowers at the top of the cliff walk. Tiny footprints have been embroidered onto the ‘sand’. The blue fabric of the sea has been enhanced using ivory and blue beads to show the waves.
This design is framed in a 4” wooden hoop, which has been hand stained in an oak finish.
The back of this hoop is covered so the stitches are not visible. The edges have been glued down to fix them to the hoop. This embroidery is not designed to be taken out of the hoop. This hoop can be hung on a wall or also looks just as pretty propped up on a shelf.
