This whimsical hoop is inspired by a love of the ocean and its deep blue waves.
‘I’d rather be by the sea’ has been hand embroidered onto an ivory cotton, using a variegated blue embroidery floss. The writing is framed with two shades of blue fabric, embroidered to mimic the waves of the sea. A mix of pearls, in ivory and shades of blue, pick up the details in the waves.
This design is framed in a 5” wooden hoop, which has been hand stained in a whitewash finish.
The back of this hoop is covered so the stitches are not visible. The edges have been glued down to fix them to the hoop. This embroidery is not designed to be taken out of the hoop. This hoop can be hung on a wall or also looks just as pretty propped up on a shelf.
