This whimsical hoop is inspired by a holiday to the Welsh coast, and a longing to be back there as soon as possible!
‘I’d rather be by the beach’ has been hand embroidered onto an ivory cotton, using a variegated tan embroidery floss. The writing is framed with blue velvet and a thick weave hessian, to mimic a blue sea on the beach. A mix of shells, beads and a pearl chain have been hand embroidered on top of the fabrics.
This design is framed in a 5” wooden hoop, which has been hand stained in a whitewash finish.
The back of this hoop is covered so the stitches are not visible. The edges have been glued down to fix them to the hoop. This embroidery is not designed to be taken out of the hoop. This hoop can be hung on a wall or also looks just as pretty propped up on a shelf.
