This gorgeous landscape is an imagined scene - inspired by walks taken in the Gower Peninsula of South Wales.
A mix of fabrics have been layered to mimic the beautiful landscape. Autumn leaves have been hand embroidered in the foreground of the hoop, using a war, copper, metallic floss. The leaves extend over the edge of the hoop. Ivory coloured dried flowers have been hand embroidered onto the other side of the hoop. The sea has been embellished with iridescent embroidery floss to create the illusion of sea waves. Two fluffy clouds sit in the sky, made from hundreds of french knots created with yarn.
This design is framed in a 5” wooden hoop.
The back of this hoop is covered so the stitches are not visible. The edges have been glued down to fix them to the hoop. This embroidery is not designed to be taken out of the hoop. This hoop can be hung on a wall or also looks just as pretty propped up on a shelf.
